Pick where you're starting from. We find your nearest airport and search one-way flights for the first good night, or tomorrow.
Aurora
NOAA's planetary Kp forecast, in 3-hour blocks. A night counts as active when Kp reaches 3 or more between 18:00 and 03:00 local time. At these latitudes Kp 3 puts the auroral oval roughly overhead. Nights beyond the 3-hour forecast use the daily highest Kp from NOAA's 27-day outlook, marked ≈.
Clouds
MET Norway's hourly cloud-cover forecast for each city, averaged over the same dark hours. A night counts as clear when the average is 40% or lower.
Updates
Refreshed every morning at 06:00 UK time in season (1 October to 31 March). The three nights are tomorrow and the two after it. Flight links search one-way from your nearest airport on the first good night, or tomorrow.
